The Merrimack Golf Course in Methuen, MA has a great tradition of an old style golf course with small fast greens, few sand bunkers and a wide variety of shotmaking skills tests. Be careful to try to hit greens with enough loft and/or spin to stop on the putting surface. You can only run or bounce the ball up and onto a few greens. The views from the clubhouse area are terrific, especially in the fall when the colors are in the trees. Greens fees are low for eastern Massachusetts with power carts available for rent.
