The second day of competition saw a reversal of Friday's form and team Gaschler gave a sound thumping to team Layhe, winning 4.5 out of 6 points to take a 7.0 to 5.0 lead. I don't know what my teammates were doing out there, but a seemingly easy day turned into a disaster (maybe we should go bowling).
The true highlight of the day was later that evening, when Pedro Martinez slammed the door on the Yankee hitters for three hit shutout ball over seven innings and set the stage for the Red Sox abortive comeback in their American League finals. Oh Pedro, would you like to come down to the Cape and play on my team?
